The Plant-Based Diet is a whole-food diet that is based around minimizing and/or avoiding the consumption of meat products and dairy products – essentially any animal products or animal byproducts, and also highly refined/processed foods. It encourages the consumption of unrefined, whole plants and minimally refined plant-based foods. In other words, it is all about devouring vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, whole grains, tubers, and legumes in their most natural state.
